Where the elite compete!

HAVE A HEART - DONATE A CAN FOOD DRIVE - HUGE SUCCESS!

Over 60 players from the Hudson River Hornets were out at local supermarkets  today from 9AM-12PM  collecting donations of non-perishable food items to
donate to the local food shelter within Rockland County.  Even in the cold weather, the young athletes pushed on to get to the goal of 1,000 pounds of food.  The out pour of support from the community helped collect over 1,500 pounds of food.  All involved felt great about the event and local food banks were overwhelmed with the delivery and couldn't wait to get it distributed to those in need. The young athletes felt good about being able to make a difference and enjoyed talking with community members about why they were collecting food and the ability to "give-back".  Rich Brooksbank, President of the non-profit organization expressed his gratitude and appreciation to parents and players and was proud of their accomplishment. Rich went on to say, "it makes you feel good to see what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it and that the young athletes understood what impact they have made."

Hornets accomplish biggest food drive ever and receive Certificate of Appreciation!

Mr. Don Dwyer of St. Paul's Cupboard in Congers, congratulates the Hornets on the biggest food drive ever.  He was pleased that we chose their organization to donate the food collected.

He recognized the energy and excitement from the players and was impressed by the attitudes to do something for the less fortunate.

He is proud to be considered friends of the Hornets and thanked everyone who participated.

A certificate of appreciation was presented to the organization.

We look forward to next year and collecting even more!
