9TH GRADE DIVISION
An athlete must be in the 9th grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 16 on August 31, 2012. For an athlete that is in the 10th grade as of October 1, 2011 wanting to play down, they can be no older than 15 on August 31, 2012.
Theresa Dowling brings a vast range of hands on experience and knowledge with her current collegiate career as a Senior for St. Thomas Aquinas women’s team and at Clarkstown North High School. During her the last four years for St. Thomas Aquinas, Theresa has logged impressive stats…in the 2008-2009 school year her team finished with the highest team GPA in Division II Basketball and second highest in the country (including Divisions I,II, & III.) Theresa is a swing player, playing the position of shooting guard and small forward. As the Team Captain, she is a three year starter and nominated rookie of the year as freshmen. In the 2010-2011 season, her team ranked 9th in the region and 1st in their conference.
As a Senior for the 2011 team, Coach Dowling was selected as the ECC Player of the week after guiding her team to 2 straight victories, averaging 17 points and nine rebounds.
While at Clarkstown North High School as a shooting guard, Theresa made first team All-County, team MVP for three years and was Team Captain for 2 years, scoring 1050 career points throughout high school.
Theresa has coached AAU Girls teams for the past 2 years and has worked since 2007 with the Pearl River Pirates Basketball camp.
Theresa believes that defense wins championships and that hard work beats talent. As a player I expect nothing less than 100 percent from myself and my teammates and takes the same mentality when coaching.
Theresa graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas as a math major with a certification in secondary education. She will be furthering her education with a Masters in special education.
