6th Grade Division
An athlete must be in the 6th grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 13 on August 31, 2012. For an athlete that is in the 7th grade as of October 1st, 2011 wanting to play down, in the 6th grade division they can be no older than 12 on August 31, 2012

Bill Madden joins the Hornets and brings extensive basketball coaching experience. Coach Madden is committed to focusing on the development of fundamental skills. Coach believes strongly in the importance of teaching basic basketball fundamental skills to young players as a strong foundation to future success in the sport. Coach prides himself on being an avid student of the game of basketball, and is always looking to raise the bar to the next level.
While coaching various CYO age groups St. Gregory’s in Garnerville, NY, he has won 3 Rockland championships and the Rockland, Upstate and New York State Archdiocese titles in 2009. An accomplishment only won by 2 St Gregory’s teams in 37 years. For the last 10 years, he has dedicated his time to help build the St. Gregory’s program into the county’s largest, with over 450 participants, grades 1-8.
For most of his adult life, he has been involved in sports both on and off the court. Bill was a Sports Writer and Editor for The Journal News from 1979 to 1992 and exclusively covered the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets during the 1980s. He has interviewed such NBA greats as Patrick Ewing, Michael Jordan, Hubie Brown, Chuck Daly, Doug Collins, Darryl Dawkins and Ralph Sampson. He also served as the Assistant Sports Information Director at St. Thomas Aquinas College during the college’s 10-year run as one of the nation’s premier NAIA men’s basketball teams. He accompanied the team on 5 trips to the NCAA tournament in Kansas City from 1982 to 1986.
Coach Madden is an Executive Vice President of Focus Media, Inc., a public relations and advertising firm with offices in Rockland, Orange and Sullivan Counties and lives in Stony with his wife, Ginny, and three children: Erin, Brendan and Brian.
