Kim Reznicek will bring a broad range of knowledge and experience to the program playing on the collegiate level as well as coaching for multiple age groups for AAU and currently as Head JV Coach at Dobbs Ferry High School.
As a graduate from Dobbs Ferry High School, Kim was a three-sport varsity athlete, including a four-year tenure on the Varsity basketball team. During her Varsity basketball career she won various individual achievements including all section and all-league awards, but is most proud of being a part of three sectional championships. In the summer of 2002 Kim was a part of the Gold medal winning team with the scholastic women’s basketball team in the Empire State Games.
After high school, Kim began her college career at Manhattanville College and participated in the basketball program as a four-year starter. After those four years she developed a passion to begin coaching particularly on the high school level. Kim has been an Assistant Varsity Coach for the past three seasons, and will begin as the JV coach for Dobbs Ferry High School 2012 season.
Kim believes that her vigorous work ethic and deep enthusiasm for the sport as a player will only help her to become a knowledgeable and influential coach. This was instilled in her beginning at the age of ten playing AAU basketball in the Westchester area. Kim believes that playing at the AAU level is very challenging not only physically but mentally due to the level of competition and time commitment. However, if you want to be a successful basketball player, AAU is the best level to develop great basketball skills.
Having various coaches in her career with many different personalities, tendencies and strategies has helped her to bring together a core of positive ethics that she believes every coach should have and stand by. This includes hard work every day in practice as well as games, enthusiasm to always want to increase your skills and work on your weaknesses, and commitment to not only getting yourself better but working as a team to be as successful as your possibly can as a group.
